Astraware announced that it is the exclusive publisher of Whitehorse Games' Chess, Checkers and Backgammon games for Palm OS handheld devices. This is the first publishing deal signed by Astraware who usually wears the developer hat when it comes to wireless gaming software. The ChromaGames bundle includes all three Whitehorse Games in a single set optimized for high resolution screens and fast processing speeds of Palm OS 5 devices they can also be played on any Palm OS PDA with OS 3 or higher). Midway Sports says that its action-arcade baseball game MLB SlugFest 20-03, was the top-selling baseball videogame for the PlayStation 2 in 2002 - in the US. Ultimate Trainz Tour Ends

Auran sent along word that it has just wrapped up a seven city tour in which it showed off its game Ultimate Trainz Collection to model railroad enthusiast groups and gatherings around the US. Cities included Los Angeles, Syracuse, Baltimore, Buffalo, Houston, Toronto, and Chicago. Apparently the response to the model railroad simulation for the PC was positive and Auran plans to visit more train enthusiast events in the future. Final Fantasy Origins April 8th

Square Electronic Arts announced today that Final Fantasy Origins for the PlayStation will begin shipping to North American retail on April 8, 2003. Final Fantasy Origins offers remixed versions of Square's ultra popular Final Fantasy and Final Fantasy II role-playing games on one disc for a suggested retail price of $30 (USD). ATI Settles Shareholder Lawsuits

ATI Technologies has settled claims alleged in shareholder class action lawsuits filed in May 2001 in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. The suit alleged that misrepresentations and omissions were made by ATI and its officers during a period following the company's May 2000 earnings warning. ATI agreed to pay $8 million (U.S.) to resolve all remaining claims - a portion of which will be paid by the company's insurer. The company said that it anticipates a charge in the Second Quarter relating to the litigation.

SEGA of America announced today its plans to launch a special online Valentine's Day quest for Phantasy Star Online Episode I & II on February 14 (this Friday). The quest, which will be available until February 17th, lets up to four players embark on a mission to find rare and exotic varieties of chocolate, scattered across the planet Ragol. These chocolates can then be given as presents to other online gamers in celebration of the holiday. The game's online lobby will also be decorated with Valentine's Day-themed eye candy and other seasonal surprises.
